The tea
After photographing hundreds of portrait sessions over the past few years, I have found that I'm not the perfect fit for every family. That’s why this process begins with a conversation. I want to hear everything—how you met, funny first date stories, and how y’all got engaged.
We'll get to know one another, talk about the details of your day, answer any questions you might have about working with together and figure out if we’re the best fit for each other.
Let's connect
Once your date is reserved, we'll connect to start chatting about possible locations for your session. We generally recommend choosing one location and if it's a place you haven't been before, it might be helpful to visit during the time our session will take place. That way you have an idea of the light, crowds, closing time, etc! If you're not sure about where you would like to take your photos but you have a general idea of the look you would like, just let me know because I would be happy to recommend a few locations based on your aesthetic!
Location
If picking out outfits for photos takes you back to your high school days when you literally tried on everything in your closet and piled it on your bed but still felt like you had nothing to wear, you're in luck.
We put together an extensive outfit suggestion guide with tips for every member of the family (even Fido!)
Wardrobe
On the day of your session, we'll connect to make sure the weather still looks like it's going to corporate. We'll exchange numbers and finalize our meeting location. Please plan for your session to take about one hour from start to finish.
The session
All images from our sessions are typically delivered within about two weeks of the shoot date via an online gallery. This gallery will allow you to share your favorites with family, order prints and even download images to share on social media.
Your gallery will remain active for six weeks.

WHAT TO EXPECT –
This spot is *seasonal*, but it's one of my top 5 locations! I love to shoot their especially in the Summer and Fall. The farm is the host of the gorgeous sunflowers.
This locations is on the Fayette and Woodford County line. The Sunset is perfectection and the stone bridge is just a chimer to the farm!

This little town gives off a whimsical vibe, from its small town feel to its historical features. This town is ideal for any occasion!! It is especially gorgeous in the Spring and Fall months!!

Downtown is filled with so many great options! There is Gratz Park, The Square, City Center, 21C , The Distillery District, and one of my new FAVS the Greyline Station!!
Just minutes from DOWNTOWN, there is the University of Kentucky Arboretum and Ashland at the Henry Clay Estates.

With the growth of online shops, shopping for your littles is more fun than ever! We recommend choosing color families (neutrals, blues, etc) over perfectly matching outfits. If you're looking for some inspiration or some of our favorite shops for kids, check out the link to my Pinterest boards below!
For the Littles
When picking outfits we recommend keeping in mind the word “complement” rather than “match.” For example, if Dad is wearing a blue and pink pastel plaid shirt, Mom may want to choose a long, soft blue dress. It can also be a great idea to choose “color-families,” such as pastels or jewel tones.

Wardrobe Styling
The sooner the better! My weekends tend to fill up pretty quickly - especially during the spring and fall, so the sooner you reach out to me, the more likely you are to get your desired date!
To reserve your date, we'll need a contract as well as a deposit. And if something comes up and you need to change your date, just let me know!
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK?
Unless you've modeled professionally, you're probably going to feel awkward in front of the camera. I have been taking portraits for years and I even feel like a deer in the headlights when I'm in front of the camera.
You're going to feel awkward at first, but I coach all of my clients through the whole process, I think you'll find that being photographed can actually be fun. Don't worry about your kids. I am well versed in capturing even the busiest of little ones.
We're Awkward and my kids don't sit still.
No one wants to look like a wet dog in their photos so if it looks like it's going to rain, snow, hail or some other weather catastrophe, we'll be in touch via email or phone to reschedule.
Often, when I am scheduling our initial portrait session date, if it works for our calendars, I'll actually set up both a main date and a rain date just to make sure we don't have to postpone your session for very long if the weather is bad on the original date.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
I generally share a "sneak peek" within the first week of your session. Full galleries are delivered within 2-4 weeks of your session, you'll receive a link to a digital gallery that will allow you to download high resolution images.
The gallery is also set up to make ordering prints, canvases and other keepsakes as easy as turning on a Roomba to clean your floors. No worrying about tricky things like color correction, DPI and image format.
