Red River Gorge Proposal

There’s nothing quite like capturing the magic of a surprise proposal—especially when it’s set against the stunning backdrop of Red River Gorge. When Jake reached out weeks in advance, carefully planning every detail of his special moment with Mallory, I knew it was going to be something incredible.

A Change of Plans & A Perfect Backup

The day finally arrived, and excitement was high. But as with any great adventure, things don’t always go exactly as planned. The initial location fell through, and with Mallory in the car, we had to pivot—quickly and discreetly. That’s when we came up with an alternative plan. Thankfully, Jake’s friend Ali was on board and ready to help pull it off.

As we made our way to Sky Bridge, Ali took the lead, keeping everything under wraps. She walked past me, giving a quick but firm nod—the signal. It was go-time. Jake and Mallory followed behind, with Mallory still completely unaware of what was about to happen.

The Proposal: Cliffside & Unforgettable

The moment was perfect. The sun cast a golden glow over the gorge, the crisp breeze added a little extra drama, and the towering cliffs made for a breathtaking scene. Right at the edge of the overlook, with nothing but endless sky and rugged beauty behind them, Jake dropped to one knee.

Mallory turned, completely stunned. Tears welled up as the reality set in—this was it. This was the moment. And, of course, her answer was a resounding YES!

Cheers erupted (Ali may or may not have teared up, too), and as if things couldn’t get any sweeter, Ali had even brought fresh nails for that post-proposal ring pic moment. Talk about a best friend!

Champagne, Celebration & The Sweetest Photos

After soaking in the moment, we captured a few dreamy, intimate portraits—Mallory and Jake, still glowing from the excitement, wrapped up in each other’s arms, the cliffs and trees framing their love story. And then, what better way to celebrate than with popping champagne? A little toast, a whole lot of joy, and memories that will last a lifetime.
